J&K administration notified the J&K grant of domicile certificate procedure rules 2020 A fast-track process set in motion to issue the certificates within a stipulated time of 15 days The new process will allow West Pakistan refugees, sanitation workers and children of women who married non-locals to apply for jobs in J&K Central govt, 

3. Officials who have served in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for a total period of ten years, are eligible for the certificate. Children who can produce Class 10 or Class 12 certificate from any J&K school will also be eligible for domicile certificates.

The application will help the candidates to take mock tests for exams such as JEE Mains, NEET, etc. The application is powered by Artificial Intelligence and therefore the students will get instant results after taking the tests.

14. Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said Indian Railways will run 200 non-AC trains daily from 1st of the next month. These trains will be run in addition to the Shramik Special Trains

15. The bookings for the tickets will begin from 10 am on 21 May.  The bookings of tickets can be only be done online and advance reservation period shall be maximum 30 days for trains to be run from 1 June.

16. These trains also include the popular trains such as Durontos, Sampark Krantis, Jan Shatabdis and Poorva Express and more. Railways also said that these will have both AC and non-AC classes and fully reserved coaches.

17. The Zonal Railways and IRCTC have been advised to take necessary action for the opening of all static catering and vending units (MPS, bookstalls, misc/chemist stalls, etc.) at railway stations with immediate effect.

The major exam that delayed was Civil Services Prelims. It was earlier scheduled to be conducted on May 31, 2020. Along with Civil Services Prelims, the revised dates have been released for UPSC NDA Exam, UPSC CMS exam etc.The UPSC has uploaded a new examination calendar on its official website i.e. upsc.gov.in.

21. The government will soon start a pan-India helpline number for migrant workers to report their grievances, according to an official note. The helpline, to be set up under the chief labour commissioner, will not be a toll-free number.

6. India and Bangladesh on Wednesday operationalised five new ports of call and two more protocol routes to enhance connectivity and trade between the two countries.

7. The Sonamura- Daudkhandi route will improve the connectivity of Tripura and adjoining states. The Rajshahi-Dhulian route will augment infrastructure  in Bangladesh and reduce transportation cost of stone chips to Bangladesh.
